The streaming platform is hoping by joining forces with Ninja, who is considered to be the "most important gamer" on the planet his massive fanbase will follow. He has amassed more than 14 million followers on Twitch, the top video game streaming platform owned by Amazon.
According to data firm Sensor Tower, downloads for the Mixer app doubled on the iOS App Store following Thursday's announcement that Ninja had signed an exclusive streaming deal with the platform. On Google Play, Mixer has become the 12th-most-popular app. (Twitch is a subsidiary of Amazon, whose chief govt and founder, Jeff Bezos, owns The Washington Put up.) For Mixer, Blevins's addition gives a possibility to reduce into Twitch's stranglehold on online game streaming. I don't understand what Ninja is doing over at Mixer. In accordance to analysis by StreamElements, Twitch was answerable for 72.2 p.c of all time watching dwell streams within the second quarter of 2019. He's the most followed gamer on Twitch, although his popularity has slowed. But both of those claims to fame may be under threat now that he's set to move to an entirely new streaming platform.
So why did Ninja move from Twitch to Mixer?
"Ninja is going to be streaming exclusively on Mixer!". Instead, he can build Mixer in the image he wants for himself - becoming the streamer he has always wanted to be.
"Mixer is a place that was formed around being positive and welcoming from day one, and we look forward to the energy Ninja and his community will bring", Microsoft said.
Similar to Twitch, Ninja will stream on Mixer daily from 9:30 a.m. CST to 6 p.m. CST. Bugha has seen his social media numbers explode since winning the World Cup, and during the Fortnite Friday tournament with Ninja, he found himself No. 1 on all of Twitch with over 80,000 concurrent viewers.
Ninja is undoubtedly one of the biggest gaming celebrities.
Based on Ninja's reveal video, it seems a lot of the reason is so he can enjoy more creative control on the platform.
