Storm Team 3: Fourth of July brings a chance for storms

Posted July 05, 2019

Highs will be flirting with 90 degrees all week, feeling even warmer and so we need to be checking on our family, friends, and neighbors to make sure everyone is handling the heat. Cooler conditions near Lake Michigan.

This evening, showers and storms are possible, especially on the west side of Michiana. An isolated severe storm with wind and hail is possible but they will be very limited.

SUNDAY NIGHT: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 11 pm.

That 50% chance will continue through Monday evening, mostly before 10 p.m. It will become cloudy Thursday night, but remain dry for evening fireworks displays. Partly cloudy, with a low around 71. Wind: S 10-20; gusty. Partly sunny, with a high near 92.

Looks like we only see a stray chance for a shower or two on Monday with us drying out by Tuesday with mostly sunny skies. All three days will be partly sunny with the high temperature between 83 and 87 degrees each day. Low: 73. High: 91. Wind: S 10-20 miles per hour. South southeast wind around 5 miles per hour becoming northwest after midnight. Low: 75. High: 94.

The pattern of daily chances of rain continues Wednesday through Friday.

WEDNESDAY: Mostly sunny and warm. We can expect a partly cloudy sky tonight with temperatures dropping down into the 70s.
