According to an official statement, Palestinians will hold a general strike to honor the death of Ahmad Manasra, 26 years old, killed Wednesday by Israeli forces at the entrance to the city of Al-Khader, south of Bethlehem.

An Israeli border police points his weapon towards journalists and medics during clashes with Palestinian protesters near the Jewish settlement of Beit El, in the Israeli-occupied West Bank March 20, 2019.

"Tomorrow, we will begin building 840 housing units in Ariel in a new neighborhood as was approved two years ago", Netanyahu said in the aftermath of a shooting attack by a Palestinian that killed and wounded Israeli soldiers and settlers on Sunday.

"This is a summary execution and Israel bears the full responsibility for this crime", Hmeid said.

Dozens of young Palestinians clashed with Israeli forces in response, with local reports saying several were wounded as Israeli troops opened fire at the protesters.

The army said late Tuesday that 19-year-old suspect Omar Abu Leila was fatally shot when he opened fire on soldiers trying arrest him. "Details regarding the incident are being reviewed and the incident will be examined".

In what appeared to be a separate incident, the Palestinian Health Ministry said two more Palestinians were shot dead by Israeli soldiers near the Palestinian city of Nablus.
