Pochettino on Real Madrid job links: I take it as something positive

Real Madrid are reportedly set to sack manager Santiago Solari and appoint Jose Mourinho as manager of the club for the second time.

The Portuguese, sacked by Manchester United in December past year, has been linked with a return to the Bernabeu with Santiago Solari's future in doubt after Real crashed out of the Champions League this week.

After three consecutive defeats at home, twice to Barcelona in the Copa del Rey and La Liga, and once to Ajax in the Champions League, the expectation is Madrid are ready to make a change.

A report from AS claims the four-time Champions League victor attended an official board of directors' dinner after Real Madrid's 4-1 humbling by Ajax and spoke to Perez as well as other members of Los Blancos' hierarchy.

Santiago Solari's job has been speculated since the day he had taken over and now it looks like the Argentinian will be getting the sack at the end of this season if not earlier.

This is due to his leadership skills and the reputation he is held in by the fans, which would give him a similar profile to that of former manager Zinedine Zidane. "It is an honour to serve this club", he told reporters.

Madrid - third in the league standings - are away to Real Valladolid on Sunday, while Barca host Rayo Vallecano on Saturday.

Speaking at his press conference, which he was 80 minutes late too, causing some to speculate that he held a meeting with senior players following an argument between Perez and club captain Sergio Ramos.

"I am the coach and tomorrow, our obligation, mine in particular, is to go there and do the best we can", Solari said. The objective is always the next game, always.

"The chants? I am proud, but Real Madrid have a coach", Mourinho told El Chiringuito TV.

Jurgen Klopp "will not entertain offers" from Real Madrid, according to the Telegraph.

Mourinho, who has been without a job since being sacked by Premier League outfit Man United in December, has been linked with a return to the Los Blancos, who now occupy third position on the LaLiga table.
