'Frozen 2' Trailer Reveals a Big Disney Sequel

Posted February 15, 2019

Frozen 2 is scheduled for released on November 22.

Everything about the trailer is telling us to expect and more mature story this time around, it looks more like an superhero action movie than a Disney princess film.

We all have our hobbies. At one point, Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, Sven, and Olaf stare across the valley, before the screen goes black and a single leaf floats down and through the "O" in the Frozen II title. Additionally, we get a moment between two unknown characters - a boy and a girl.

Disney fuelled the long-held opinion of queer Frozen enthusiasts, that the ice queen should be written as a lesbian, with the release of a new teaser on Wednesday (February 13).

This first look of the movie is quite serious, and very different compared to the breezy, comedic animated shorts which last featured the Frozen friends. Idina Menzel returns as Elsa, Kristen Bell as Anna and Jonathan Groff will reprise his roll as Kristoff.

At the beginning of the teaser, we have Elsa essentially testing out her powers on the ocean, hinting at a greater understanding of her own self. Though we don't know the objective of her actions, the photorealism of the water is impressive.

Also joining the cast are Westworld actress Evan Rachel Wood and This Is Us actor Sterling K. Brown.

The new film, like the original, will feature the music of Oscar®-winning songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez.
