Man City vs Arsenal: Emery speaks on Ozil's future following Suarez's arrival

Posted February 04, 2019

Aguero loves playing against Arsenal and that's showing no signs of changing. In fairness to the Londoners, no opponent is safe against Aguero.

The Argentina worldwide then went on to seal his hat-trick on the hour mark as City chase down Liverpool in the Premier League. Last season, they averaged 2.79 goals per game compared with 2.63 this term. And while some of these six teams have enjoyed success over the last few years, some have been left behind. Against Arsenal, Sane has scored three goals and assisted one in seven games, and he certainly wants more. Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will start up front for Arsenal against Manchester City. However, that particular tactical decision meant the visitors lacked bite, and subsequently their poor record on the road against the big sides continued.

According to Sun (UK), Emery is backing his compatriot to hit the ground running despite joining Arsenal on January 30, in a loan switch that will keep him at north London until the end of the campaign. "It is a tough week for us and we go game by game".

Aguero appeared to emulate his former father-in-law Diego Maradona as he used his hand to turn the ball into the net for his third goal.

While the Gunners did pull a goal back through Laurent Koscielny, Aguero didn't take too long to tap in his second goal to restore City's lead just before half-time. Ramsey is on his way to Juventus having reportedly signed a pre-contract agreement with the Italian champions, while Ozil's inconsistency makes it hard to pick him in big matches. It remains to be seen if he would start the game or will be named on the bench. Bernardo Silva and Raheem Sterling hugged the touchlines further forward when City played out from the back, moving inside when in possession, which allowed Laporte and Walker to overlap.

Leroy Sane also makes way as Guardiola packs the midfield, bringing in Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Gundogan alongside Fernandinho, David Silva and Kevin De Bruyne.

"He's a player with quality and I think he can help us with his quality, and also his ambition to do something important here". That could be unsafe if Benjamin Mendy returns, as has been rumoured, but Fabian Delph is less of a threat.

He said: "I prefer to be like last season but we knew that was exceptional". But Arsenal, for the most part, has had trouble beating the big boys. If Liverpool win the title with 98 points, congratulations, they will have done well.

The league leaders face West Ham on Monday night in a fixture that kicks off a four-week period in which they face trips to Old Trafford and Goodison Park, as well as having the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie against Bayern Munich.

Man. City: Five points back and fortunate it isn't more after Liverpool's draw with Leicester, the next few weeks for the Citizens will tell us plenty. It is getting to the point now where every dropped point is disastrous for either side.
