Bayern beckons for World Cup victor Pavard

Though he ended up staying put, it's now been announced that he will move to Bavaria in the summer to begin a five-year contract with the current German champions.

German professional League club Bayern Munich have confirmed that France global Benjamin Pavard will be joining them from July 1, 2019.

Bayern's sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic confirmed the news from the club's training camp in Qatar.

His strike in the knockout game against Argentina was named the goal of the tournament.

Napoli have missed out on Benjamin Pavard as Bayern Munich confirm the France defender will join them from Stuttgart this summer.

With the transfer window now in full swing, Bayern Munich have confirmed the signing of a French 2018 FIFA World Cup victor, who will join them by the end of the 2018/19 season.

They are second in the Bundesliga, six points behind leaders Borussia Dortmund, and face Liverpool in the last 16 of the Champions League.

And the signing of Pavard is unlikely to be the final piece of business completed by Bayern in January.

He has also played 14 times in the Bundesliga this term, but Stuttgart are toiling in 16th place.
