The game is set to debut for Xbox and PlayStation 4 on January 29, 2019 as the twelfth installment in the Kingdom Hearts series, and the final chapter in the Dark Seeker saga. However, according to a Twitter statement by director Tetsuya Nomora, the biggest spoilers in the game's story are not now on the disc.
While a game leaking this far ahead of its release date is rare, Kingdom Hearts 3 finished development back in November, and it's plausible for copies of the game to end up in the wild with such a large window. Square Enix is clearly aware of this and is working to solve the problem.
In the meantime, Nomura asked that fans refrain from sharing leaked footage of "Kingdom Hearts 3" online.
Beginning December 14 2018, the experience gives guests the chance to play some of the Kingdom Hearts III game, see a Keyblade exhibit and special artwork.
While we've waited nearly 14 years for this game, the wait seems especially hard know that we have so many moments teased in this trailer.
Update: Kingdom Hearts franchise director Tetsuya Nomura has released a statement regarding the alleged leaks of Kingdom Hearts 3, confirming he and the development team have been investigating the situation. We are also aware as to how it all happened.
Word on the street is that a shipping company's employee stole several completed copies of the X-Box version and sold them off. But in more positive news, the game has just received its final trailer before release. "We're sorry to see this caused concern amongst our fans who are excited for the release", sad Nomura. But that means that a lot of them are probably already finished and just sitting in warehouses, waiting for their release date.
Visitors can also pre-order the game using kiosks, which is set for release on January 29 2019.
