Surprise, Mortal Kombat XI Announced at The Game Awards, Releases in April

Posted December 10, 2018

Did you guys expected a new Mortal Kombat game announcement at The Game Awards 2018?

The trailer shows a brutal combat between Scorpion and Raiden. But there was one raindrop on the parade: the trailer featured a pretty terrible original track called Immortal by 21 Savage. Developer NetherRealm Studios promises all-new custom character variations to let gamers change existing characters and build their own. Players who pre-order will be granted access to Shao Kahn as a playable fighter and the beta before the game's launch.

Michael Leri, features editor: "Anyone who doesn't say Mortal Kombat 11 is a damn liar". Interactive Entertainment and developer NetherRealm Studios revealed Mortal Kombat 11 to the world, and naturally, the Internet went it a little bit insane.

Mortal Kombat 11 presented exactly as it should be a continuation of the legendary series: dynamic battle, a huge Arsenal of spectacular tricks and a spectacular finale. The modern, Mortal Kombat X version of Scorpion faced off against Dark Raiden first. In addition, the game will introduce a new cinematic story that continues the epic saga that is more than 25 years in the making. Our Custom Character Variation System opens up an infinite amount of options for players to personalize their favorite fighters.

I will be sorely disappointed if this dressing up doesn't walk the same joyous, merry, unsettling, and just not right path of fighting games like Soulcalibur VI and Tekken 7.

This includes new gameplay images (below), character information and pre-order bonuses.

It's coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC, plus in a surprise move, it will also appear on Nintendo Switch.
