The first weekend's total has nearly touched $4 million mark, making it one of the biggest opener of all-time among Indian movies in USA.

Director S Shankar's much-awaited sci-fi drama "2.0" has finally hit the theaters and as expected, it is creating a storm at the box-office. It has crossed the $3 million mark in the United States, overtaking Telugu superhit "Rangasthalam" and now stands fourth in line in the list of all-time South Indian movies at the U.S. box office after the two "Baahubali" films and Rajinikanth's "Kabali".

The Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer would be aiming at a Rs. 100 crore extended weekend and if that happens, it would be a very good sign. Amy Jackson plays the role of an android robot that is similar to Chitti. While the satellite TV rights have gone to the Zee Network for ₹110 crore, about ₹80 crore has come from Karan Johar's Dharma Productions for distribution rights of the Hindi version. In 2.0, Chitti is brought back to life by Dr Vaseegaran to fight Pakshirajan, played by Akshay Kumar.
