Xiaomi launches in Britain with flagship device

Posted November 11, 2018

Xiaomi has enjoyed significant growth in the European market in recent years, but it seems the Chinese brand is far from done.

Many UK dwellers have bought Xiaomi products before.

Interestingly, in September 2018, Xiaomi rolled out MIUI update to Xiaomi Mi 8 SE, Mi MIX 2, Mi MIX, Xiaomi Mi 6X, Mi 6X, Mi 5, Mi Note 2, Redmi 6 Pro, Redmi 6, Redmi 6A, Redmi Note 5 and Redmi S2.

While Xiaomi's strength lies in the smartphone segment, the new pricing will be affecting only two smartphones.

That is now changing as today, Xiaomi held an event in London to celebrate the company's official launch in the UK.

As you can see above, the design of the phone features a clear glass element that shows you the internals of the device.

Earlier this year, Xiaomi, after launching the Redmi Note 5 Pro and Mi TV 4 for Rs. 13,999 and Rs. 39,999 respectively, made a decision to increase the prices of these two products it seems that they're now walking on the same steps with these recently launched products.

The front of the phone is less striking, with a very familiar look - meaning a relatively wide notch and a small chin at the bottom of the phone, like nearly every other Android phone to launch this year. Xiaomi will be opening a dedicated storefront for its products in the Westfield shopping center in London which not only includes both Mi 8 smartphones, but will also have headphones, computer accessories, and more on hand. The display itself is a 6.21in AMOLED panel, using the 18.7:9 aspect ratio and 2248 x 1080p resolution. As for the configurations, the Mi 8 Pro comes with a dual camera setup on the rear with a primary sensor of 12-megapixel for wide-angle shots and secondary sensor of also 12-megapixel.
