Trump clashes with 'rude, terrible' CNN reporter

President Donald Trump berated a CNN reporter, calling him a "rude, awful person" during a heated press conference at the White House on Wednesday.

Acosta pressed Trump, and POTUS erupted in anger. "You are a very rude. person. the way you treat Sarah Huckabee is".

Acosta began by challenging Trump's assertion that a caravan of Central American migrants making its way on foot through Mexico to the USA border represented an "invasion".

The spar happened when Acosta prodded the president over his campaign messaging, specifically his decision to focus on illegal immigration and the migrant caravan.

"We saw the candidates I supported achieve tremendous success last night", Mr. Trump boasted. Acosta brought up the Trump ad that his network and others, including Fox News, refused to air as racist; it tied an illegal immigrant murderer to the caravan and warned of a Democratic takeover.

"You run CNN, and if you did it well, your ratings would be much better", Trump scolded Acosta.

To NBC's Peter Alexander, who defended Jim Acosta: 'Well, I'm not a big fan of yours either'.

TRUMP: I consider it to be an invasion. "Why doesn't CNN and all journalists who check and verify everything they report sue trump for slander?"

Trump says he's been hearing about investigations since he began running for president and refers to it as "investigation fatigue". "They weren't actors", the president said.

To PBS NewsHour's Yamiche Alcindor, who asked him about white nationalists emboldened by Trump labeling himself a "nationalist", Mr. Trump said he was insulted.

"I want them to come into the country, but they have to come in legally", Trump said. He praised Rep. Nancy Pelosi, calling her "very smart", but then warned House Democrats that he would have Senate Republicans probe their conduct, should they use their newfound subpoena power to investigate him.

Spin reached out to the White House press secretary to for further clarification on what Trump meant by having "the highest poll numbers ever among African Americans" and will update if we hear back. "I'm fighting back not for me, I'm fighting back for the people of this country", he said.

"That is such a racist question". While President Trump has made it clear he does not respect a free press, he has a sworn obligation to protect it.
