Prince Harry patting down Meghan's hair in the wind is true #Relationshipgoals

The Duchess of Sussex's mother, Doria Ragland, attended her first engagement on Thursday afternoon at Kensington Palace alongside her daughter and son-in-law.

Speaking from a marquee in Perk's Field close to Kensington Palace, she said of the family chefs: "On a personal level I feel so proud to live in a city that can have so much diversity - 12 countries represented in this one group of women".

"Working on this project for the past nine months has been a tremendous labor of love", Markle said.

Harry looked extremely proud as he and Meghan's mother Doria listened to her addressing the women from the Hubb Community Kitchen at the launch event.

Thomas Markle pulled out of the May's spectacular wedding ceremony at the queen's Windsor Castle home after undergoing heart surgery and amid controversy that he had staged photos with a paparazzi photographer.

Meghan arrived at the event, wearing a $1,195 (approximately) £697 petrol blue coat by Canadian brand Smythe, with a black rollneck by Tuxe and a skirt by Misha Nonoo.

They tucked into home-made dishes including coconut chicken curry, aubergine masala and a range of chapatis and sharing dips, as well as caramelised plum upside-down cake, and spiced mint tea.

Her Royal Highness first visited the kitchen in January 2018 on a private visit and had made many more visits since.

It remains to be seen, however, whether the American duchess was forced to spell "endeavour" with the British "ou", or whether she did it out of her own volition. But let's be real here: the optics of the only woman of color in the upper ranks of the family taking her loc'd social worker mother with her to meet with a multi-racial and multi-ethnic collection of women survivors to celebrate their communities and cultures?

"They all shared the kitchen for two days every week, preparing food and eating together", The Royal Foundation's website explains. She wrote the book's forward. Everyone has embraced this so fully because it has been a passion project for us all'.

Markle went on to emphasize the power that food can have in people's lives.

"I immediately felt connected to this community kitchen", Markle says in a promotional video for the book. "I am so privileged to know you", she added.
