Xiaomi India today announced the new POCO F1, a flagship device at an unbelievable price. It is likewise made up of a 20 MP selfie cam, dual rear 12 MP and 5 MP cameras, and a Qualcomm Adreno 630 GPU. With that in mind, it is quite astounding that Poco has managed this feat.
In more ways than other, POCO F1 comes with a flagship stature. The smartphone is also sturdy because of its metal frame, the polycarbonate back panel also makes the smartphone lightweight than metal or glass back smartphones.
Poco decided to make a chubby phone so that it could cram a bigger battery and heat pipe inside the phone instead of obsessing with a slender form. On the back, it resembles OnePlus, with a plastic (or aramid fiber, depending on the trim) cover and vertically positioned dual cameras and fingerprint sensor.
The new phone has a 6.18 LCD with a notch and Full HD+ resolution (2246 x 1080 pixels in 18.7:9 ratio). The company hasn't mentioned any Gorilla Glass protection on the official site. Poco F1 comes with the industry's best SoC available right now- Qualcomm Snapdragon 845.
The Poco F1 comes with the latest Snapdragon processor and a 4,000 mAh battery. The smartphone pricing goes all the way up to Rs 29,999 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. On the left, the device has a hybrid dual-SIM tray that can either accept two SIM cards or one SIM and a microSD card at a time. It is the same sensor that Xiaomi uses in smartphones like the Mi 8. It is accompanied by f/2.0 aperture 5-megapixel secondary sensor. Xiaomi didn't just stop there, the phone also packs a whopping 8GB of RAM. That said, the phone regrettably doesn't have optical stabilisation.
The dual speaker grill is provided on the bottom side with the USB Type C port for charging and data sync.
Software wise too this phone is slightly different from Xiaomi's phones.
The price of 6GB + 64GB variant is Rs. 20999. It also gets the infrared face unclock feature that works in less than 0.4 sec, Poco claims. To smartphone not overheated or suffered from throttle (reset frequency), Xiaomi took care of good cooling, suggesting that the LiquidCool system with a copper heatsink to improve heat dissipation from a CPU. The Poco is incredibly competitive against all these offerings with its on-paper capabilities.
The Pocophone F1 comes in several variations with a choice of 64GB or 128GB of storage for the 6GB of RAM model, or a version with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Now that is killer pricing. There is an Armoured Edition as well that features a Kevlar back and better build than the other variants. As a special offer, HDFC card users get a discount of Rs 1000.
