We have to take all of this with a grain of salt for the time being, but these kinds of listings nearly always end up being legit.
Whether or not this is an error on Walmart's end is yet to be confirmed, but considering that there have been games that have leaked through Walmart listings in the past, it wouldn't be too hard to assume that this listing of games could have some grain of truth to it. That said, retailers like Walmart typically are made aware of game releases before the general public and mistakes like this have happened in the past.
In what could be one of the most substantial E3 leaks of all time (or a very odd prank), Walmart Canada put listings on its website this morning for several unannounced games, including Just Cause 4, Borderlands 3, Rage 2, National Basketball Association 2K19 and Lego DC Villains. Ubisoft has teased Splinter Cell stuff via a Ghost Recond Wildlands crossover.
There are also some unusual listings that don't quite add up here, leading me to believe that some weren't listed correctly. There's also Dragon Quest 2 for PS4 and Xbox One. In the listing we can see mention of Gears of War 5, Just Cause 4, Borderlands 3, Rage 2, Assassin's Creed, and a few more besides. The only listing that is the odd one out is "Forza Horizons 5". Of course it's time for a new Forza Horizon - it's an even-numbered year, after all.
But then there's Rage 2. This could be one of the "two new games" Bethesda's Todd Howard teased previous year. The game's official Twitter account posted a humorous response to Walmart's listing, essentially confirming the game. Others, like Assassin's Creed, are no real surprise.
Obviously this is just a (unverified) leak, so there are, really, very few concrete details.
When will we see if these leaks prove to be true?
Retail listings have been wrong before, but many of these are good bets to see at E3 next month.
What do you think of the unannounced titles that appeared on Walmart Canada?
