However, the BJP leader said a final decision on the next Chief Minister of Tripura would be taken by the BJP Parliamentary Board, which would meet in New Delhi this evening.

Deb said the next government's priority would be all-round development of Tripura and people voted for BJP as there had been total backwardness in the state under the Manik Sarkar government. As BJP won with huge margin in Tripura, so it is the party's responsibility to work with an eye to fulfilling the basic requirements of people. The party was a member of the North-East Regional Political Front, which is among the political parties of the northeast that have supported the National Democratic Alliance. The term of the current Nagaland assembly ends on March 13. "The poll outcome is also a boost for forthcoming assembly election in Karnataka", the chief minister told reporters in Mumbai, a day after the BJP won Tripura, and is believed to be in reckoning to form governments with alliance partners in Nagaland and Meghalaya. However, Ratan Chakraborty, who served as minister in the Congress-TUJS coalition regime during 1988-1993, former Opposition leader Ratan Lal Nath, Sudip Roy Barman and other MLAs like Ashish Kumar Saha, Dilip Sarkar, who joined BJP past year, have sufficient experience.

"BJP President Amit Shah and PM Modi know how to give right direction to public's suggestion", Mr Deb today said. "The CM will also address a press conference at the state BJP office", the BJP leader said.

"Now if we are not given respectable positions, we will support the government from outside", he said. Our demand has been there for years to create separate state for tribal people of Tripura.

We are hopeful that the Central government will form a high-level monitoring committee to look into our demand for a separate state for the tribals.

However, according to sources, to offer a truce to its ally, BJP leaders have unofficially offered the post of Deputy Chief Minister to the tribal party.
