High tech companies are now pouring millions of pounds into developing voice-controlled smart speakers, such as Amazon Echo and Google Home, in the belief that the limited two-way conversations that they can hold will soon become more complex and life-like. That's not a small number by any means.

The Assistant is now available on more than 400 million devices, including speakers like Google Home, Android phones and tablets, iPhones, headphones, TVs, watches and more.

With smartphone features, many of these home devices extend the convenience of a virtual assistant. The company today has taken wraps off its large booth and unsurprisingly it is mostly focused on the Google Assistant. In India though, we get limited features, and it's also disappointing that the company is yet to announce a Google Home product in the Indian market.

Voice controlled home assistants have been making their way into households over the past few years and the trend will continue in 2018. Also, users can remotely control smart devices.
