Charred body of technician found in Kanjurmarg studio fire

Some eight fire tenders have been pressed into service to douse the flames. No casualties or injuries have been reported so far.

The fire brigade issued a notice to Cinevista Studios on Monday for violating safety norms after they found that its internal fire-fighting system was not working at the time of the fire on Saturday.

Presently, the fire has been brought under control and the cooling process is underway. Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) disaster officials too said, "As per complainant, no one has been trapped".

The fire broke out at around 8 pm, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 7) Akhilesh Singh had said. But, forensic doctors mentioned that he was engulfed inflames of fire which resulted in his death."Two TV serials, "Bepanaah" and "Haasil", were being shot at thestudio when the fire broke out on the set".

This incident comes after the massive fire in Kamala Mills compound that claimed the lives of 14 people on December 29.

On January 3, four people, were killed and five injured after a fire broke out in a residential building in Mumbai's Andheri (East). "Nearly 150 people had been evacuated", said deputy chief fire officer Shyam Kharbade.

The sessions court fire came a day after a blaze at the Cinevista Studio in the city's Kanjurmarg.
