Justin Timberlake Maintains A Funky Groove With New Single, "Filthy"

Posted January 05, 2018

"Filthy" is the first song lifted from Man of the Woods, Timberlake's fifth solo album due out February 2.

The ironic thing about it is that in attempting to sound futuristic in 2018, "Filthy" sounds dated, clunky and out of touch, and it's not even close to as fresh as his FutureSex/LoveSounds album that came out nearly 12 years ago. "His sound stays evolving", wrote one fan.

The video sees Justin play a version of Steve Jobs, introducing a high tech robot to an audience at a conference.

The new clip is directed by Mark Romanek, the same person who helmed the music video of his song "Can't Stop the Feeling" in 2016.

Justin Timberlake has finally returned with a new song, "Filthy".

Timberlake's highly-anticipated Woods will arrive almost five years since his last album, The 20/20 Experience.

"Filthy" began trending on Twitter soon after the track and its music video dropped at midnight, as the pop superstar's followers turned it up en masse.

"Man of the Woods" is set for release on February 2nd, and Timberlake will headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show two days later on February 4th.
