Arsene Wenger "confident" of new Mesut Ozil contract

"Overall we deserved to win - we had plenty of chances". I would have loved it to be a bit more comfortable on the scoreline.

"The odd thing in our last games is that our displays have been good but we didn't win".

"Arsene Wenger insists he will, but he would say that wouldn't he?"

Burnley improved considerably in the second half, forcing Brighton keeper Mathew Ryan to make a number of smart saves, but despite a late assault from the home side neither team could break the deadlock and the game finished scoreless.

The result leaves the Gunners in fifth spot in the Premier League table, a mental 19 points off of top of the table Manchester City.

Next up for Arsenal is a Carabao Cup quarter-final against West Ham before Liverpool visit north London on Friday night. It was probably one of the worst experiences I have had as a player.

With the January transfer window coming up, the futures of Ozil and Sanchez are once again in the spotlight.

"You want nobody to leave and you see where we stand on that".

Sanchez has scored just five goals in 17 games so far this season and has been well below par this season - Wenger needs to be ruthless and axe the Chiliean attacker as soon as possible.

Talented left back Ainsley Maitland-Niles produced another fine performance for Arsenal and almost scored after a darting solo run, with Alexis Sanchez and Jack Wilshere also coming close as the Gunners kept their rivals on the back foot.

Arsenal fans.... Do you agree?
