Elizabeth Warren Says Trump Is Guilty Of 'Slut' Shaming

ICYMI, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand - who led the charge calling for Al Franken to resign - is now asking for Donald Trump's resignation and an investigation into the many sexual assault allegations against him.

Trump responded Tuesday, tweeting Gillibrand used to "come to [his] office "begging" for campaign contributions", alleging she "would do anything for them".

What a fucking sexist pig.

Gillibrand and other Democrats immediately denounced the President's post as a "slur" against her that implied an exchange of sexual favors for money. "There's no way" his tweet was sexist, she said, and only people with their minds in the gutter would read anything sexual into it.

"It was directed against a sitting United States senator for her focus on issues of sexual harassment and assault, which implied such a derogatory aspersion on her that I think it is really distinct and despicable", he said. "Neither will the women who stood up to the president yesterday", she said. "Very disloyal to Bill & Crooked-USED!" the President tweeted.

A chorus of Democrats accused Trump of insinuations about Gillibrand that were unsavory at best. Do you know who you're picking a fight with?

Huckabee Sanders offered up a ridiculous defense of the president's tweet.

Gillibrand responded to the tweet at a news conference on Tuesday, condemning Trump's remark that she "would do anything" for donations.

Trump donated $4,800 to Gillibrand's Senate campaign in 2010, according to federal campaign finance records. "He is an admitted sexual predator and the only thing that will stop him is his resignation", Hirono said. Kirsten Gillibrand shows that the cultural moment triggered by allegations of sexual harassment is the most vibrant and emotional issue in politics.

If Trump refuses to resign, Gillibrand told CNN that Congress should launch a sweeping investigation into the President, who stands accused of sexually harassing or assaulting almost two dozen women. Before launching his presidential campaign, Trump frequently bestowed donations on politicians of both parties. "They are numerous. I've heard these women's testimony and many of them are heartbreaking". Several have spoken out again this week, saying that the #MeToo movement is an occasion to ensure he is held accountable.

Sanders also promised that the White House would provide a list of eyewitnesses and corroborating evidence to exonerate Trump.
