Zoella's Flogging A Shithouse Christmas Advent Calendar That Costs $86

Posted November 16, 2017

Zoella's come under fire this week for charging a whopping $86 for her 12-door advent calendar.

Another said: "Don't get me wrong, I love Zoella but you can't deny how absolutely ridiculous that advent calendar is".

The calendar contains a cookie cutter, a small pack of confetti, a packet of seven stickers, a star-shaped cookie cutter, a small bag, a 130g "Festive Cookie" candle, a 30ml "Christmas Clementine" room spray, a pen, a fluffy key ring, a gingerbread man-shaped cookie cutter, a mini notepad and a 130g "Cosy Christmas" candle.

Instead of your usual calendar, which starts on December 1 and counts you down to the 25th, the Zoella calendar starts on Christmas day and takes you to January 5th.

However, the festive advent calendar is not going down well with some parents, who are claiming the product is overpriced. 'Obviously that is not who I am today and I'd like to think I'm a little older and wiser!

One reviewer wrote: "I could literally buy all of this online for £4 [the calendar] was expensive price and cheap quality".

The 27-year-old has become an internet sensation since posting her first video on YouTube in 2009, and now has over 12 million subscribers who watch her posts, as well as almost 12 million followers on Twitter.

Another said: "All the drama over the Zoella advent calendar is rather ridiculous to be honest".

Earlier this week, many flocked to Twitter to express their disapproval at the hefty price tag, particularly given the young age of Zoella's fanbase.

Many of his followers agreed with his review, saying that you could buy all the products inside the calendar for a lot less money.

After Zoella - real name Zoe Sugg - deleted the tweets but stayed silent on the matter, many people called for a public apology, which she has now issued.

The calendar is being sold at United Kingdom mega-store Boots, and it's got a poor 1.5 stars due to it's exorbitant price tag, with parents wringing their hands in despair.

A Boots spokeswoman added: "We always listen to feedback".

The calendar is exclusively on sale at Boots and in response to the criticism around the calendar's price they have announced they will be slashing the price in half to £25.

'The Zoella lifestyle advent calendar is full of 12 exclusive treats which are all clearly listed on boots.com and can not be purchased separately'.
