Super Eagles win Argentina 4-2 in glamour game

Argentina coach Jorge Sampaoli rested Lionel Messi following their 1-0 win over Russian Federation on Saturday and it seemed that they could cope without him as Ever Banega and Sergio Aguero put them in control.

Super Eagles of Nigeria came from two goals down to beat Argentina 4-2 in an worldwide friendly game in Krasnodar, Russia on Tuesday night.

The game roared to life after 20 minutes, when Ever Banega's free kick beat goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi for the opening goal.

The Super Eagles took the lead two minutes after that when Brian Idowu sidefooted home from the edge of the area to finish off a counter attack.

Alex Iwobi later doubled his efforts with a cool finish in the 73rd minute doing a nutmeg on Barcelona's Javier Mascherano.

Nigeria reduced the tally as Iheanacho scored from a free kick in the 44th minute to put Gernot Rohr side back into the game.

"His suggestion will be tabled at the CAF Executive Committee meeting very soon and we hope they approve it so that we can play a friendly match in March".
