India, Australia to share trophy after Hyderabad T20I called off

Posted October 14, 2017

Even before the match, there were speculations of rain and thunderstorm.

Australia's hopes of salvaging a T20 series victory in an otherwise disappointing tour of India have been hosed down by a sodden outfield in Hyderabad.

The Match has been called off!

The third and final Twenty20 worldwide between India and Australia has been abandoned without a ball being bowled due to wet outfield.

Hello everyone and welcome to live coverage of the 3rd T20 between India and Australia.

Update: The third T20I between India and Australia has been called off due to wet outfield.

Next inspection at 7.45 pm local time. The city has been consistently receiving rains through the week, throwing normal life out of gear.

India won the rain-curtailed first T20I in Ranchi by nine wickets by DLS method, while Australia bounced back to canter to an eight-wicket win in the second match in Guwahati. This Australia series has been a positive one for India as they dominated Australia in the ODI events where they thrashed the visitors 4-1, then came the T20 series and both the teams had their positive moments with a win each.

"Arrangements have been made at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, the venue of the match, to ensure that the match is held without any problem", curator YL Chandrasekhar said, adding that the recent bout of rain had not affected the pitch.

It was a painful wait for the spectators who turned up for the first ever T20 global at the venue.

The hosts will heavily rely on their hard-hitting batsmen Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Hardik Pandya.
