Xiaomi's media invite states "Join us for the launch of our first dual camera smartphone in India". However, there is no surety on whether the company will launch the Mi 5X or not. It is highly anticipated that the latest device would be Mi 5X, which was recently launched in China. At the back there is a dual-camera setup a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens. At the front there is a 5-megapixel snapper. It comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. As opposed to the iPhone 7 Plus that comes with a front-mounted fingerprint scanner, the Xiaomi Mi 5X sports one on the back.

The invite says that a "flagship dual camera" product will launch at the New Delhi event, above the image of what is likely a representation of its dual camera setup. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 625 processor. The phone runs MIUI 9 out of the box. First released in China around a month ago, the Mi 5X shares its hardware with the Redmi Note 4, camera specifications with the Mi 6 and looks like the Mi Max 2. Still, it is expected that the device will be the Xiaomi Mi 5X. The company is hying it up by calling it as "flagship dual camera". It comes with 64GB of internal storage and USB Type-C for charging and data syncing. The camera app has a portrait mode very similar to the one on the iPhone 7 Plus, which allows blurring out of the background. So it is expected that the Xiaomi Mi 5X smartphone price in India will be around 14000 to 15000. In China, the Mi 5X is priced at CNY 1,499 that translates to roughly Rs 14,200. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and 4G.
