At homes, many devotees in Jaipur have prepared Daal, Baati and Churma - typical Rajasthani dishes - as an offering for Lord Ganesha today along with laddoos. At a time when the British government frowned on Indians gathering together, Tilak urged people to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi publicly.

Ganesha Chaturthi is also observed in Nepal and by the Hindu diaspora elsewhere such as in the Trinidad, Suriname, Fiji, Mauritius, United States and Europe (such as in Tenerife, Spain).

Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated with loads of excitement among Maharashtra.Lord Ganesh worshipped foremost among all the gods and is considered as the god of health, wisdom, peace, and prosperity. It is that festival which is celebrated with great pomp and show. In the recent times, eco-friendly Ganesha idols are finding a place in the worldwide market. Another idol-maker, Bolanath, said the income they get from these idols under the new tax regime is insufficient for them to make a living.

Since environment protection is every citizen's duty, clay idols of Lord Ganesha are being made which are eco friendly. Among them, the story here is heard every time during the Ganesh Chathurthi.

Which are the most famous pandals? My best memory is eating modaks.

If you are looking for Ukadiche Modak or steamed modak made of rice flour and stuffed with coconut, jaggery, and cardamom, head to Modakam near Prabhadevi or Aaswad in Dadar.

Shilpa Shetty, who celebrates Ganesh Chaturthi in a very different manner, shared a video and asked people to stay "swasth and mast". Lord Ganesha became the first deity to be worshipped in Hindu mythology.

Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the biggest festivals in India.

For the Ganesh Chaturthi, there are mainly four rituals that are followed which are Pranapratishhtha, Shhodashopachara, Uttarpuja, and Ganpati Visarjan.
