Paulie Malignaggi sensationally stormed out of McGregor's camp last week after images of his sparring with the UFC star were posted online. Chief among them, however, was a leaked photo that showed Malignaggi falling backward to the canvas during a hard 12-round session in Las Vegas.
That's why UFC head honcho Dana White released footage of Conor McGregor appearing to drop former boxing world champ Paul Malignaggi in sparring leading to the two-division UFC champion's August 26 fight against Floyd Mayweather.
"It was one hell of a song".
Malignaggi, who retired from boxing five months ago, walked out earlier this month after he said McGregor disrespected him in the ring and the dressing room and housed him and the other sparring partners in accommodations resembling a "crackhouse". The sparring partners that were in the house with him were anxious that night, saying he's incoherent, he's stumbling.
In the first video, Malignaggi can be seen in a defensive stance while McGregor unloads.
Malignaggi, 36, has been engaged in a war of words with McGregor ever since leaving the Irishman's training camp for his upcoming boxing match with Floyd Mayweather Jr, which takes place on August 26. It didn't go good for him, so it is what it is. We were anxious. The sparring partners were actually telling us that he was stumbling out of the vehicle after a 12 rounder.
McGregor worked out for about an hour and a half, hitting the bags and putting on a show for the media assembled. The ropes kept him up multiple times.
Malignaggi also claims McGregor is scared of being challenged in the ring, something Mayweather is likely to exploit. We thought the worst was about to happen. He was badly, badly concussed after those rounds. Respect. At the end of the day, respect to come in, respect coming in and trying to answer this, he did try his best - but he got his ass whooped, Ariel, and that's it. Like I said, if I was to label him after any animal, it would be the rat or the weasel.
"When it's all said and done it comes down to the two competitors". Let him watch, let him try and study, but you can not prepare for this.
