Cyborg Blames Opponent Change on Megan Anderson's 'Irresponsibility'

If anything, Cyborg believes that Evinger should have been competing in the Octagon much sooner than getting the call to replace Anderson, which only furthers her frustration with the ranking system at the UFC.

Earlier tonight news broke that Megan Anderson had been forced to withdraw from her highly anticipated UFC 214 title fight with Brazilian star Cris Cyborg. She'll look to add a UFC championship to her resume when she face Cyborg.

I am no stranger to struggle and this is the biggest struggle I have faced yet, but like I always do, I will come back stronger and better than before and I will be coming straight for Cris, the Title and becoming the face of the UFC 145lb division. "She is as tough as they come and will bring the fight to me the entire time".

Both women campaigned for weeks to get the title bout done and the UFC only announced the fight last week.

The promotion crowned Germaine de Randamie its first 145-pound female champion in February, after she defeated former bantamweight titleholder Holly Holm via decision. De Randamie's first title defense was supposed to be against Justino, but de Randamie refused to accept the fight, causing the UFC to strip her of the title earlier this month.

The 36-year-old won the vacant Invicta FC bantamweight title in July of 2015, stopping Irene Aldana in the fourth round, and has since gone on to make three successful title defences. The Missouri native has been fighting professionally since 2006.

Anderson is 8-2 in her MMA career and riding a four-fight winning streak.

The showdown with Justino will be a co-main event at UFC 214 alongside the light heavyweight championship between Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier.
