"Whether it's (Virender) Sehwag or Ravi Shastri or whoever it is, I am very very keen to be associated as an assistant coach or a bowling coach which I have done before".

Prasad is now serving his final year as the chairman of the junior selection committee, which ends this September.

Sridhar, former bowler has been working as the fielding coach of India from past three years, he has seen the playing strategy of Kohli and knows what is required for Indian team now, he is pretty sure of the things that we lack in, detailing this, he opened up about the former as aspiring coaches, revealed few differences.

Here, it's pertinent to mention that during Kumble's short-lived reign, there was no bowling coach as Jumbo himself assumed that role.

The last date for applying for the post of India Head Coach is July 9. If the CoA was more proactive, Kumble wouldn't have been insulted by the captain in front of three top Board officials. Only former Indian cricketers Virender Sehwag, Lalchand Rajput, Dodda Ganesh along with Richard Pybus and Tom Moody had applied for the high-profile job when the initial advertisement for the job came before India's Champions Trophy campaign kickstarted in England.

Here are some of the angry reactions to the news of Ravi Shastri's application:Do you think Ravi Shastri will become Team India's head coach?

Earlier, Kumble informed that skipper Virat Kohli had reservations about his work "style" and his extension as the head coach, which prompted him to resign. However, the former India paceman hasn't officially given his name for the job of the head coach but wishes to join the team in the capacity of a bowling or assistant coach.

Former all-rounder Shastri, 55, has been touted as a strong candidate who has a good relationship with Kohli. Shastri served the team as a coach from 2014 to 2016. In a statement, which seems to back the former's approach, the support staff says that it is important for a leader to "yield to the demands of the group".
