Manchester United prepare £170m swoop for Harry Kane and Alvaro Morata

According to a report by The Mirror, Jose Mourinho wants his bosses at Manchester United to utilize their £100 million from the transfer kitty to purchase Harry Kane over Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Sunday Mirror claims that the United manager has made his preference clear to Ed Woodward and has ordered the club to make a bid to Tottenham which they would struggle to reject.

The Tottenham striker is admired by Jose Mourinho, who wants to bring him to Old Trafford no matter the cost. United also love Robert Lewandowski of Bayern Munich but a serious investment in the Polish forward is hard with him turning 29 this summer. Last season, we saw a similar figure in Zlatan Ibrahimovic but things went haywire once he got injured.

He's been linked with a move to Arsenal and if a striker was to make way it would surely be him rather than Marcus Rashford, the brightest young talent at the club.

That doesn't mean the rumoured Cristiano Ronaldo deal is back on though, he has his sights set on a Premier League star.

The "Special One" wants the England global to partner Morata upfront as the Reds' have Premier League title ambitions.

Meanwhile, the odds of Manchester United doing a deal for the Premier League's consecutive Golden Boot victor have plummeted overnight from 20/1 to 6/1.

Mourinho is also pushing for United to conclude a deal for Inter Milan midfielder Ivan Perisic as he looks to make an impact in the Premier League next season.

Despite spending time on the sidelines, the 23-year-old still managed to score 35 goals in all competitions last season so if he does move to Old Trafford he'd certainly provide a much-needed threat to a United side that only registered 54 goals in the league last year.
