"That has become even clearer after the USA withdrawal from the Paris climate agreement".

This is the second resolution the council has taken up opposing one of Trump's moves. "I made it clear that the Paris agreement is not open for renegotiation although we are in the phase of negotiating the rules". It sets a global agenda to meet the sustainable development goals and properly respond to the manmade disaster that is climate change with explicit language on how climate change will further exacerbate poverty and social problems around the world, particularly for "women and Indigenous peoples".

The resolution was passed unanimously, and said that the town of Vail recognizes that scientific evidence for warming of the Earth's climate system from human activities is unequivocal.

The agreement aims at keeping the increase in average global temperature at below 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Lee made the remarks at the left-wing Center for American Progress in Washington, DC, where she referenced states rights as it applies to Trump's decision this month to withdraw the United States from the Paris climate change agreement, a move she claims would hurt the us economy.

He said Trump was "quite deliberative" in his consideration of the Paris pact.

The Trump National Doral Golf Club in Miami is also threatened, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the South Florida Regional Climate Change Compact, the Hill reported.

"As the mayor of Pittsburgh, I can assure you that we will follow the guidelines of the Paris Agreement", he tweeted.

While the decision was expected, President Donald Trump's determination to pull out of the landmark Paris Agreement did send ripples throughout the renewable energy sector.

As one of only three UN member nations to refuse to participate in the Paris Climate Accord, the remainder of the world will continue to innovate and outpace us.

On Wednesday, Ban joined more than 50 former world leaders who criticized the current us administration's view on climate change and warned of "unpredictable and possibly regrettable" consequences. The mayors of Aspen, Boulder, Breckenridge, Denver, Edgewater, Fort Collins, Lafayette, Lakewood, Longmont and Telluride have joined Vail in upholding the strictures of the agreement in their cities and towns. It's no wonder President Obama neglected to submit this detrimental agreement to the United States Senate.

The Paris climate accord agreement is flawed because it has no enforcement mechanisms and it doesn't require action by cutting carbon dioxide emissions.

"We can not do better (than Paris), and we don't have the luxury of more time", she said.

The participants now have to negotiate the rules for implementing Paris, including how each country will report their efforts and progress, what kind of monitoring there will be and what can be done to promote compliance.
