Kirsten Dunst, the actress behind Mary Jane was asked her opinion on the upcoming Spider-Man movie starring Tom Holland and she wasn't very gently.

Dunst played opposite Spider-Man Tobey Maguire in three films between 2002 and 2007.

"We made the best ones, so who cares?" she boasts. Both studios want to make sure you don't forget about Spidey swinging into theaters this summer, especially if you're watching some professional basketball.

Back in October 2016, Marvel announced that #UltimateSpiderMan was set to be replaced with a new animated series on Disney XD, simply titled Spider-Man.

Plans for yet another Spider-Man reboot were announced in 2015.

The Spider-Man films are the ninth highest-grossing film franchise of all time.

"It was really, really nice, he's a really lovely guy, he's everything I hoped he would be", Tom said. C'mon, am I right or what? Spider-Man: Homecoming comes out in Ireland on July 7th.

If the series is anywhere near as good as Spider-Man: Homecoming promises to be, we're in for something special.

When Holland isn't getting sucker-punched by stuntmen or showing up at parties dressed like Spider-Man, he's busy showing up at children's hospitals as the iconic Marvel character. Like the more recent seasons of Ultimate Spider-Man, the merch pointed towards a more Spider-centric series. "I was lucky to get the huge excitement out of the way, then have a calm, collected conversation with my new bosses".

Now Tom Holland has taken up the mantle after making his first appearance in Captain America: Civil War.
