Is this a Microsoft Surface Pro 5 leak? Not quite

Posted May 22, 2017

As a new batch of press renders have leaked online purportedly showing the upcoming Surface Pro 5.

Microsoft's all set to host a major event in Shanghai on May 23 where it's promised to show the world what's next. For those hoping to see a Microsoft Surface Pro 5, the Redmond company already made it clear that no successor is coming out for now. You will get the similar Surface Pro pens and keyboards as well.

Microsoft will host a big event in Shanghai on Tuesday, May 23. Microsoft's Surface chief Panos Panay recently said that "there's no such thing as the Surface Pro 5". That's not the case with these images that appear to reveal the next Surface Pro.

The signature device, the Microsoft Surface Laptop will cost a minimum of £979 in the UK.

We've had the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 for close to two years now and during this time, we've also heard a lot about the Surface Pro 5, the alleged successor to the highly successful Pro 4. From the leaked looks and design, you might think that the new Surface Pro is identical to the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 released in 2015.

Physically, the update doesn't look any different to the existing model, but Blass says it will simply be called the Surface Pro - losing the number. But it was necessary to bring an internal change in the device. These colors would be reflected in the device's Surface Pen as well. Rumors were claiming that this device will be unveiled on May 23rd.

In a post on VentureBeat by Evan Blass, it seems that renders of the upcoming Surface Pro refresh has been leaked ahead of its official reveal. As stated by MSN Power User, the new Surface Pro hybrid would be featuring numerous design cues from both the Surface Pro 4 and the recently released Surface Laptop.
