Chelsea have two Premier League fixtures remaining - against Watford and Sunderland - before facing Arsenal in the FA Cup final at Wembley on 27 May.

Speaking to Sky Sports after being crown champions, captain Gary Cahill said: "We've worked so hard all season and consistantly we have been the best team in the league".

"Mazzarri added: "We have to play as we did (against Everton) at Chelsea. I am very happy because my dream came true". The winning goal comes from a player that hasn't been involved so much. "I found the strength to change, to take responsibility to change systems and find a new fit for the players", he said.

"It was a slow start to the season". It means I trust my squad and this season we have had three competitions - league, FA Cup and Capital One Cup. There are a lot of problems and to find the right solution quickly wasn't easy.

"I think that now it's very important to enjoy this moment and to celebrate this win".

Chelsea were suffering late nerves as West Brom threatened to prolong their title race before Batshuayi struck an 82nd-minute goal to guide his side to glory.

Tottenham were the team to end Chelsea's historic run in the Premier League in January, beating them in a convincing 2-0 defeat.

At his unveiling on July 14 previous year, Conte said: "I hope there is a small flame flickering that can eventually grow into a blazing inferno".

There was an element of good fortune about Terry's goal on his first league start since September. Arsène Wenger, the head coach of Arsenal, has been running a version of the 4-3-3 formation for what seems like the last 15 years, but for some reason, he changes to a 3-4-3 this season. "Everybody is happy. It's great to take the trophy".

Former Blues midfielder Townsend told talkSPORT: "They [Chelsea] have been outstanding; they've been the best team; they've been the best prepared; they've been well-drilled; they haven't panicked when they've had one or two bad moments, they've dug in again and regrouped. We adapted nearly straight away and that's the incredible thing about our story this season".

"We already have a lot of quality, but maybe sometimes you need a bit more depth because this year we didn't have injuries and you never know what can happen next year".
