- Police in Virginia have issued an Amber Alert for an 8-month-old girl and her mother.

They say the child was likely abducted by an unknown woman, who may be traveling in a 2013 black Kia Optima, license VAW2197, VA, towards Buckroe Beach.

Chloe Johnson was last seen with her mother on April 30, affiliate WTKR reports.

"Keir and Chloe's family are concerned due to the length of time that has passed since they last had contact with them", Hampton police say in the statement.

At a press conference Friday, Hampton Police Chief Terry Sult said there was initially no indiciation of an abduction, but gave few details when asked what changed investigator's minds.

Police in coastal Virginia are searching for a mother and an infant they believe may have been abducted. She has black hair and brown eyes. She is 2-foot-5 and weighs 20 pounds. She was last seen in blue jeans and a t-shirt.
