2 students, teacher injured in shooting at Townville Elementary School

The Anderson County Coroner's Office is headed to a reported death on Osborne Road in Townville that officials say is connected with the incident at the school.

Anderson County deputies are responding to an emergency situation at Townville Elementary School in Townville, South Carolina, according to Anderson County School District Four.

But at least one child was airlifted to a nearby hospital.

The other injured person was a female teacher.

Stations in the Greenville-Ashville-Spartanburg market broke in around 2 p.m. ET to cover reports of a shooting at an elementary school, and have yet to end their rolling coverage.

In live video feeds of the scene, a number of police cars and law enforcement officials could be seen gathered around the school. There are reports a man has been found dead near the school. The newspaper also reported that a suspect was in custody in the shooting.

The school has been evacuated and closed.

Oconee Co. sheriff's office have been called in to help clear the building and secure the scene. Parents are being told to pick up their children there. It has 286 students in pre-kindergarten through 6th grade.

The school is in a rural area near Lake Hartwell, which is located near Interstate 85 and the Georgia state line.
